THE GOSPEL TAKES BIRTH- FATHER, SON & HOLY SPIRIT

The Triune God is seen in complete control of the events unfolding in Bethlehem

•God the Father is the initiator of all the action
•It is a fulfilment of promise and prophecy
•The miraculous birth and the ‘Born Again’ experience

•God is sovereign in his choice
•The “Good News” of Jesus’ birth is for all to hear
ETERNITY STEPS INTO TIME

•Paul speaks of a time that God the Father deemed right for sending his Son
•It was the turning point in the salvific history of humankind
•Paul confirms Bethlehem
•It had a redemptive purpose

BUT WHY HUMAN AND NOT SUPERHUMAN?

•Creation is a demonstration of God’s Glory
•Humankind was designed as his image bearer
•Sin attracted God’s wrath, and it enslaved humanity
•God’s righteousness is revealed in his law
•God’s justice demanded that just like Adam there would be one who fulfilled God’s righteous law
GOD MAKES PROVISION FOR MAN’s PREDICAMENT
•God steps down in Jesus
•Jesus pays the price of God’s justice through the Cross
•God provides humanity the provision of salvation through faith
•He regenerates a slave of Sin to a Sonship that calls God as Father
